Animations and educational resources helping children across Wales understand COVID-19 vaccinations through age-appropriate information.
Project undertaken as Head of Design at Golley Slater.
We were briefed to write and create Welsh and English animated films, together with printable resources for 5-7 and 7-11 year olds.
The purpose of the films was to provide and inform the children with accurate and engaging information about COVID-19 vaccinations in Wales. Scripts were tailored to each demographic, with the 5-7 year olds being purposefully less comprehensive.
Luckily for me at the time, my son’s were 7 and 11 years old, so I knew the films had to be immediately engaging.
We developed a gender ambiguous narrator called Alex who delivers the short and snappy voiceover. This paired with the custom vector illustrations and fresh colour palette, created a charming set of 2D animations. My boys asked for several replays.
