WELSH GOVERNMENT
Re-branding a Welsh Government initiative to help young students achieve their potential.
Project undertaken as Head of Design at Golley Slater.
The Seren Network was an initiative set up support the most able young learners in Wales achieve their full academic potential. Using a network of training providers, it was focussed on helping GCSE students in Wales to plan for their future and get access to leading universities in the UK and overseas. But as their remit grew to support 8-11 year old’s, a new identity was needed to reflect the wider responsibilities while creating sub-brands that spoke to specific audiences.
The existing identity didn’t appeal to its audience and was used inconsistently across all materials. So we developed a new, energetic and youthful identity, featuring a rising star and bold colour palette that helped to distinguish between the master and sub-brands. We then provided a brand tool-kit and guidelines for campaigns and collateral to be rolled out.
